Ethnic Embroidery and the Look of Far Flung Adventures

The change in weather always inspires renewal and its matching shift in style. Scoutie loves the ease of exchanging her warm coats for vests over sweaters. This Stella McCartney is an absolute favorite in our repertoire. fine khaki cotton with embroidered tunic top, she looks ready for a stroll through the spring wildflowers in the Alps or a maybe a tropical drink on the beaches of St. Barth's.  We paired our favorite little schmata with her J. crewcuts red cotton cardigan with its sequined starfish and mom's beaded Calypso for Target khaki belt.  The vest we got at goodwill and I think it too was an original Target gem. Scout grounded the look with her brown Boden leather boots instantly giving her that easy, breezy, bohemian laissez faire, hipster flair. Now where to?

Scouting Recessionista

Known in Scout's travels as Scout's mom, I am a Network Television Producer and Correspondent by day and a seeker and a treasure hunter by night. I have always been an adrenaline junkie slash fashionista. After exploring the globe with National Geographic as their Adventure Reporter and a year and a half stint living in Baghdad Iraq, I returned to the States and got pregnant with my glorious daughter. The dismal economy and the shrinking of the network television news world inspired me to turn my thrift-y creativity in to a lucrative business. Who knew how expensive it can be to clothe your fashionable children? Well it doesn't have to be. I gave up jumping out of airplanes and dodging rockets, mortars, and land mines for the adrenaline-inducing pursuits of finding great bargains and turning them in to inspired, stylish, fashion statements.
